Shepherd Home is a two bed home for the terminally ill, offering compassionate care to those determined by their physicians to be within the last three months of their lives.
A certified Hospice Agency refers a person to Shepherd Home and continues to supervise his/her care. Our care focuses on pain control, symptom relief and on meeting the spiritual and emotional needs of the resident, family and friends.
Shepherd Home's paid staff consists of an executive director, staff nurses, and a volunteer coordinator. The heart of our home is a dedicated group of volunteers who so generously give of their time and talent caring for our residents consoling their families, and keeping the house and property clean and beautifully maintained. These individuals consider it a blessing and a privilege to share in another's final days.
There is never a charge to the resident or family, nor does Shepherd Home receive any insurance reimbursement. The cost of operating Shepherd Home is covered by donations from the community, memorials and fundraising activities
