Our mission is to help improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait. We do through certified case management, supportive services and various ongoing programs including a free week-long camp for children ages 6-14 with sicle cell disease. (Sickle cell disease is a life-threatening blood disorder of the red blood cell to which there is no widespread cure. We are the only nationally accredited 501(c)(3) organization supporting individuals with sickle cell disease in Texas. Over the past 25 years, our organization has impacted over 750,000 individuals through support, education, advocacy, assistance, referrals, and camps for children, teens and adults. We serve families across the state of Texas and in more than 60 counties. Currently, we service just over 1,030 families.
