Team 1983 Skunk Works is a small but mighty robotics club with deep local legacy. We
participate with the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics
program and are largely composed of students from the Highline School District which
provides our facilities.
While robotics is our theme and passion, our team recognizes that FIRST calls upon us to
do more than just build robots. Our mission is to inspire students to succeed as part of the
engineering and robotics community, while helping prepare students for college and their
greater future, through practicing skills of gracious professionalism.
Skunk Works Robotics impacts the surrounding community by fostering student
leadership and the powerful impact of its committed mentors. Our participation with FIRST
provides opportunities for youth to learn skills that not only provide exciting opportunities
to compete in Robotics Challenges, but inspire students to seek careers in STEM fields.
