Nonprofit Category: B - Education
Exempt Status: 501(c)(3) (IRS Form 990 Filed)

We are a public/private partnership corporation that ensures that children, from birth to five, are prepared for success in school and life. We believe all children deserve opportunities for quality and equal education, to be happy and healthy, and to reach their full potential. We provide equitable opportunities to people of all races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, genders, sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions of abilities, marital and parental statuses, ages, philosophies, and military or veteran statuses.

Donations or in-kind items will be used to support the Raising Forsyth event. Proceeds from the event and auction will be used to support local early childcare providers to improve early education to infants-4-year-olds to improve literacy, support working parents, and improve adult outcomes in the workforce. Past requests have been used to fund and build playground equipment, purchase classroom supplies, and sponsor childcare worker training.

We are seeking donations for the auction we will be hosting during our annual fundraising event. All of the gift cards donated will be available for purchase by attendees - the unique twist to this purchase is that Smart Start will receive the profits of the auction and the gift cards which are purchased will be donated to families in the County. We serve Black Indigenous and people of color as a target audience.
