Navigate Recovery Gwinnett's mission is to serve individuals and families impacted by addiction, connecting them to the resources they need and removing barriers that prevent them from getting and staying well. We serve adult individuals with substance use disorder and their loved ones in the metro-Atlanta area. We achieve this mission through 2 programs that offer peer support services, and, as the word peer implies, these services are designed and delivered by people who have experienced substance use disorder and recovery.

The Safe Harbor program is Navigate Recovery’s peer-led addiction recovery support center that offers a set of non-clinical activities that engage, educate, and support individuals and families to make life changes necessary to establish, maintain, and enhance recovery from substance use disorders. Our certified peer recovery specialists connect clients to a full range of treatment service providers and provide ongoing individualized recovery coaching sessions that support people’s ability to promote their own recovery. Safe Harbor hosts daily support group meetings for both individuals with substance use disorder as well as their loved ones. For the families impacted by their loved one’s addiction, we provide education about addiction, and assist them as they learn new ways to support loved ones.

The Lifeline program is a 24/7/365 crisis response program that connects trained recovery coaches to patients in hospital emergency departments who have survived a drug/alcohol overdose, are at high risk of overdosing, or are experiencing drug/alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Recovery coaches explore which treatment services (detox, rehab, outpatient treatment, sober living homes, etc.) the patient desires and is eligible to receive. This process includes helping individuals navigate the different avenues of recovery services and connecting them to a full range of treatment service providers. Recovery coaches follow-up with patients for a full year after their initial visit, providing continued support and facilitating the maintenance of recovery.
