At SOS Children’s Villages Illinois, we build villages that keep brothers and sisters together in foster care, surround them with a community of hope, and help them grow into caring and productive adults.

Our unique model of care has proven over the past thirty years to give children and youth the opportunity to live in a nurturing, stable, single-family home with their brothers and sisters in the care of a full-time, professionally trained Foster Parent in one of our villages. Children benefit from the stability of remaining with their siblings as well as the support of neighboring SOS Illinois Foster Parents and the entire community.

SOS Illinois provides foster care at three villages, which are clusters of single-family homes—14-18 at each village—anchored by a community center. This model promotes collaboration and mutuality between foster parents and youth in care, who join a larger community of support. The community center at each village hosts educational activities, clinical services, workforce development opportunities, and other resources available to the broader community. Youth in care have access to all these resources within walking distance of their homes. We also open some services, such as academic enrichment or workforce development, to neighbors in the surrounding communities.
