This letter of request is sent to you regarding a local family from Conroe Texas in need, whose father works for the South Montgomery County Fire Department as a battalion Chief. . Thursday, March 10th Carson (13 years old) was at baseball practice and caught a ball with his nose, breaking it and initiating a series of unnoticeable events in his brain that led us to the Texas Children's Hospital emergency room a little over a week later.

Carson was seen by a neurosurgeon and after his assessment, Carson was diagnosed with Cereballitis. All of Carson's symptoms started to make sense. His slurred speech, his unbalanced and uneven walking, excessive lethargy was all a result of the swelling in his Cerebellum. After seeing 30+ doctors on our first day it was identified Carson needed to start IV steroids, and IVIG (immune therapy) to help boost his chances of recovering. In addition to the steroids and IVIG Carson started speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
