Since opening in 2006, SOPAC has become an accessible cultural destination, presenting world-class artists in its intimate venue in South Orange, NJ. SOPAC comprises a 439-seat mainstage theater, art gallery, and multi-use loft space. SOPAC is committed to presenting programming that contributes to the economic and social vibrancy of the highly diverse Northern New Jersey region. SOPAC connects its surrounding communities, creating shared arts experiences that build community cohesion, social-trust, shared-meaning, and a vitality that infuses the desirable livability of our region.
SOPAC’s strategic plan prioritizes community, artistic expression, equity and access, and authentic relationships. SOPAC prioritizes people and celebrates the diversity of the people who live, work, study, and play in Essex County, where SOPAC is located.
