South Plains Sweethearts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to support traveling livestock exhibitors from the South Plains region at the San Antonio Junior Livestock Auction.
South Plains Sweethearts was established in 2022 after Red Raider friends, Sarah Logan, Ashleigh Mimms, and Taddy Beuke attended the San Antonio Junior Livestock Auction. We noticed the number of exhibitors who traveled to the Alamo City from the South Plains and saw an opportunity to reward West Texas youth for their hard work.
These exhibitors have spent countless hours caring for these animals, preparing them for judging and the opportunity to sell them in one of the most prestigious Junior Livestock Auctions in the nation. Less than 10% of animals exhibited in the Junior Livestock Show qualify for the Junior Livestock Auction. As 4-H parents and FFA supporters, we understand how much time, effort, and responsibility go into raising animals for livestock shows!
