South Shore Support Services, Inc. is guided by the belief that the individuals we support are the directors of their plan for support services. To that end, the agency works to empower each person to make informed life choices. We support the individual's pursuit of a quality of life, which is free from self-imposed and/or external barriers. The satisfaction of the people we serve is the primary measure of our success.
South Shore Support Services is a non-profit that provides services to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We serve over 800 individuals on the South Shore of greater Boston. We are holding our 15th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday October 7th at South Shore Country Club. This is a major fundraiser for us and proceeds will go directly to providing services and programs that benefit our individuals and their families . We are continually developing innovative ways to break down barriers for our individuals. This year we have made some exciting progress. Our Individual Support Program has introduced smart technology to individuals that live in their own home, providing them with greater independence and self-reliance. Some of the technology we have implemented includes a Ring doorbell, two-way communication devices, medication dispensers, and communication devices. Our Launch day program debuted the “Launch Eats” food trailer where the individuals have been able to hone their culinary and customer service skills at local events and the Cohasset Farmers Market. Launch members also shop, prep, cook, and deliver food to over 70 elders on the South Shore every other Friday. Our Family Support Center holds our Determination Studio – a creative, life-skills learning center used to teach self-determination and independence. Menu planning, cooking, budgeting, laundry, and decision making – all these skills are taught in the Determination Studio!
