Southern Animal Volunteer Effort (SAVE) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 2018 with the mission of rescuing homeless cats and dogs from overcrowded shelters in the southern region of the United States. We connect these animals with medical services, safe foster homes, and adoptive families. Each year, we serve approximately 1,000 homeless cats and dogs.

SAVE addresses the issue of overcrowding in animal shelters in the southern region by advocating on behalf of better spay and neuter laws and by providing education on animal adoption and ownership. We work tirelessly to help as many animals as possible while also addressing the underlying problem.

SAVE offers comprehensive support to adopters through various channels, including our website, social media channels, and word-of-mouth. Our care guides provide essential information on common questions, local emergency contacts, and practical care tips, and we arrange transportation to partner adoption sites with the necessary resources and capacity to ensure their successful adoption. We also provide medical services, fostering, outreach services, and animal education programs to empower individuals to make informed decisions that promote the well-being of their pets and the larger animal community. Through our robust network of resources and support, SAVE is committed to finding every animal a loving home. Funding would support program staffing and increase SAVE’s capacity to help animals in need.
