The SPCA serving Allegany County was established by volunteers in 1911 in Cuba, NY.  We area 501c3 organization that does not receive any funding from local, state, or federal agencies.  Our Board of Directors and Fundraising Team are all volunteers.  We are a no-kill shelter where any animal that walks through our door receives the medical treatment they need and stays with us until they find their forever home.  We moved into our new shleter in 2019.  This shelter is 100% paid for and is a 'green' building.  We have LED lighting, insulated concrete block walls and we use geo-thermal energy to heat and cool the building.  Our spay and neuter clinic has been open since 2019 and has serviced 7,500 animals.

The SPCA shelter protects, rescues and helps animals in need.  We improve the quality of life in our communities by not only caring for animals but helping to educate our communities on treating animals (and humans) with kindness, respect, and compassion.  We work closely with school and community groups to promote responsible pet ownership, as well as collaborate to keep pets and families together.  We work to foster, hellp to develp, and support the connections and relationships between people and animals, thus creating a more humane society.
