Since 1973, Spina Bifida of North Texas has worked to make a difference in our community through individual and family services, including outreach and support programs, scholarships, medical supply assistance, camps, education, advocacy, and informational resources, to name a few. Spina Bifida is the most common permanently disabling birth defect in the United States. It occurs when the spinal cord fails to close during the first months of pregnancy; Spina Bifida causes brain and spine abnormalities, resulting in life-long disability.
The mission of the Spina Bifida Association of North Texas is to build a better and brighter future for all those impacted by Spina Bifida.
