We are a K-5 public elementary school in the Bethlehem Area School District in Bethlehem, PA. We have 500 plus students, with 40% or more receiving federal free/reduced lunch. The mission of the PTO is to enahnce the education of all of the students at Spring Garden Elementary and to support the staff. Through our fundraising and social activities, we are able to send every grade on a field trip and have educational assemblies, such as this years' visit from the Da Vinci Science Center. We also purchase school supplies, library books, classroom supplies, musical instruments and more for all of the students. We host community building social activities that are inclusive to all and promote a sense of belonging for all of of students. We work extensively with our guidance counselor to help our students most in need have the materials that they need to succeed. Sometimes this even includes food. This year we purchased grocery store gift cards for our neediest families at the holidays. Every dollar that we raise goes directly to the students through our board-approved, line item budget.
