St Cyril of Jerusalem Church is a special education schools or program in Encino, CA.  The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet founded St. Cyril of Jerusalem Parish Grammar School in 1950. Their mission was a call to service “the dear neighbor without distinction” with a charism of unity and reconciliation. The school continues to be blessed with the presence of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. They currently fill the position of a middle grades art instructor. The Sisters also offer in-services and retreats for the faculty and continue to influence and strengthen the spiritual foundation of the school. Their gifts, talents and resources promote the gospel message, which provides the framework for our Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs) : St. Cyril Students love God, love their neighbor, love learning and love themselves in a healthy way.

The St. Cyril faculty and staff are dedicated to a balanced approach in learning. As such, teachers are committed to educating the whole child beyond the basic curriculum. Opportunities for social and interpersonal growth are integrated into everyday school life. In addition to core subjects in Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, we also offer classes in Music, Art, Theater, PE, Spanish and Robotics.

Grades K-5 are common core aligned in math, reading and language arts. Junior High is a balance between California standards-based instruction and Common Core. In alignment with the high schools that our students attend after graduation, instruction in junior high is designed to accommodate the demands of the high school and the current trends in Common Core curriculum.
