The St. Elisabeth School has students starting at Tk up to the 8th grade. It is located in the heart of Van Nuys. It is a school full of life and a beautiful sense of community. With small classes the teachers are able to focus on all the children and their needs. The school always strives to do the best for their students. Helping them grow into amazing citizens in our community and be the shining stars they were meant to be.
The SERV Center is the other program we are fundraising for. This program provides food for in need families in Van Nuys and many surrounding cities. They receive 2 large boxes filled with fresh produce, grocery and frozen items, meats, dairy, baked goods, and other essential Items. Such as diapers and hygene products. But not limited to just those items. Weekly we serve 200 families. Which equates to about 1200 individuals. These families depend on our food and all the essentials we give them. We started an additional out reach program to be able to feed our homeless members in our community. Our selfless volunteers cook hot meals 2 times a week. Then another set of selfless volunteers come out in the evening and distribute them to a total of 400 homeless individuals a week. Through out the year we do other programs to provide school backpacks filled with some school essentials, blankets and coats to the homeless in the winter months, holiday meal necessities, and gifts for kids newborn-18.
All auction funds raised will go towards the people in the community. We want to give every one the opportunity and assistance to be shining stars. We will create scholorships to help bear some of the costly burden to send 8th graders on to some of the best private schools in L.A.. We will furnish the classrooms with new desk and supplies needed. Also do any structural repairs that the school. We will create new programs at the SERV Center and continue our efforts to help all the people in our community. The basic needs we take for granted at times are ones people struggle to obtain. The funds raised at this event will help fund the programs we have in place already as well. Our facility needs some TLC. We will be able to do all those changes.
