We are committed to carrying God’s message of love into a hurting world, remembering always the command of Jesus to "clothe the naked, feed the hungry, care for the sick, visit those in prison, and welcome the stranger among us."
We serve our local community through our womens, mens, children and youth ministires, communities in our sistering Mexico Cities through our border ministries, communities in Guatemala through our Guatemala ministry as well as local children through our largest ministry, our school.
Our border ministry collects blankets in the winter season, shoes in the spring/summer season, and food in the fall season to take across the border to orphanages in sister cities like Reynosa and Progresso.
Our Guatemala Ministry goes to Guatemala yearly with American Dentists to provide deltal checkups, provide cavity services and we also collect shoes, vitamins and toothbrushes and toothpaste to provide to the people of Guatemala.
Our largest ministry is our school where we provide a christian based education to our community members. St. John's Episcopal Day School provides each student with a well-rounded academic program that develops their full competence, creativity, character and compassion within a Christian environment. Through attainment of this mission, we produce responsible young individuals equipped to live a life worthy of a child of God. www.stjohns-mcallen.org
