St. Michael's Academy is the only Catholic Elementary School located in the city of Springfield and provides a well-rounded educational experience for preschoolers through eighth grade. The culturally diverse student population represents families from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds: 47% White, 21% Hispanic, 21% Black, 7% Asian, 6% Multi-racial; 29% non-Catholic. The school philosophy is one of inclusion; every child is deserving of a high quality education in a safe, secure and caring environment.
Each student is challenged on an individual and daily basis to be the best they can be, both spiritually and academically. These lessons extend beyond the classroom and result in development of strong morals, respect for themselves and others and an understanding of the value of community service.
