During the years 2020 / 2021 our community suffered two major hurricanes, a snow storm and a major flood. The Diocese of Lake Charles was self insured and due to the catastrophic nature of these events the damages far exceeded the insurance limits. The Diocese applied for and has been approved to receive funds from FEMA to help with the cost of repairs that the insurance can not cover. These added funds, which are a tremendouse help, and the insurance money will only cover approximately 90% of the needed repairs. The repairs are estimated to be between 2 - 2.5 million dollars. The church is in need of a new roof, new floors (we have no covering on the concrete currently) boards cover some of our stained glass, new pews and a number of other necessary repairs. We have been continuing to worship faithfully in our damaged church but the repairs are needed before additional damage occurs.
A group of parishioners has come together and is organizing this event to help witht he cost of the repairs that is not going to be covered by insurance or FEMA. We are respectfully requesting a donation for our silent auction to help raise money to off set the portion that the church is responsible for. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
