Because we believe in the dignity of all people, St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin’s mission is to provide compassionate, individualized assistance to help our most vulnerable neighbors obtain nutritious food, affordable housing, meaningful employment and a voice in our community.

Our core services include providing nutritious meals at our Free Dining Room, Homeless Prevention Support, Crisis and Housing Search Assistance, Case Management Services, Job Training and Community Court.

Since 1946, our crisis assistance programs have grown to support more than 10,000 people annually in Marin.  Our core services include:

·         The only HOUSING HELP DESK providing walk-up housing search assistance and direct client aid

·         HOMELESS OUTREACH TEAM (“HOT”) collaborative program with Coordinated Entry to help chronically homeless individuals with complex health problems secure permanent supportive housing

·         The largest HOMELESS PREVENTION PROGRAM in Marin, providing temporary rental assistance, budget planning and direct aid, preventing about 1,800 households from being evicted each year

·         The only COMMUNITY COURT in partnership with Marin Superior Court and Legal Aid of Marin, securing justice for very low-income or homeless people with minor infractions

·         The only FREE DINING ROOM in Marin serving roughly 180,000 hot nutritious meals to children, adults, seniors, and veterans each year, and providing a vital entry point to connect them with other safety net services and housing solutions

·         CalWORKS FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM in partnership with the County of Marin, providing case management, budget planning, and coaching for long-term housing and independence for isolated, homeless families who qualify for support.

Last year, SVdP served more than 180,000 free meals to our hungry neighbors. We distributed more than 1.1 million dollars in rental assistance and direct aid to prevent homelessness. Last year, SVdP housed 298 individuals, older adults, families, and Veterans. Through our Marin collaborative, since 2016, we have successfully housed more than 600 chronically homeless individuals and they have remained housed at a 94.83 % success rate, saving taxpayers millions of dollars annually.
