Starr King Elementary School’s mission is to foster a love of learning and learning together through four programs that emphasize our diversity - Special Education, Pre-Kindergarten, Experiential Learning, and Mandarin Immersion - all with very distinct needs, but common goals.
Starr King Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth grade school with 300 students located in the Potrero Hill neighborhood. Starr King is the most ethnically and socio-economically diverse public school in San Francisco. Our students, teachers, and families embrace the myriad perspectives, opportunities, and challenges of our kaleidoscopic community.
Our school culture is based on personal responsibility and mutual respect. We value coming to school on time, participating with courage and perseverance, and learning together. The work we do with our kids here is work we do in service of human beings who will shape our future.
