Statement of Need: At SFVLL our mission is to create an environment that is secure, positive and inviting for all to play baseball/softball, while developing sportsmanship, discipline, character, confidence and promoting healthy habits. SFVLL is in Stickney, IL and services children from the neighboring towns; Stickney, Forest View, Berwyn and Cicero. There were 130 kids enrolled in our league this Spring 2022 season. Our community elementary schools are in Title I status. Our league has four baseball fields for our kids to play/practice on. However, two of our fields are in need of some upgraded renovations to accommodate the growth of our league.
Program Description: The SFVLL has provided programs for boys/girls between the ages 4-16 for over60 years. SFVLL consists of all volunteerswho work countless hours to make sure the children continue to have something positive to do in our community. For our league to operate eciently, it comes down to our fundraising. The cost to maintain the fields and equipment, plus keep up with safety trends as well as other daily expenses is a huge burden on our league, especially due to our size. We will continue to move forward and do what we can to provide the best available, however, we cannot do that without some outside assistance. We are oering a sponsorship program to try and raise as many funds as possible to facilitate better fields, equipment and safety initiatives for our players. Goals:
Enhance and accommodate the emotional, physical, and mental development of all players by creating a safe environment to include all players of all ages and abilities.
Objectives:
● Promote player and community social health and physical fitness ● Inspire the players and their families to be physically active in their daily lives ● Supportdevelopment of motor, and cognitive skills, while learning how to interact with their fellow teammates when they are playing ● Promote various levels of physical activity that support players’ cardiovascular, strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility ● Provide tools to help build confidence and self-esteem of our players
