STRIDES is a 501c3-certified nonprofit organization started by students at Texas A&M University in 2019 that serves to assist and advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their pursuit of a postsecondary education. We work to provide scholarships to students attending the PATHS and ACHIEVE programs at Texas A&M University (we have no formal affiliation with the University) to help alleviate their financial burden. To date, we have given $75,000 in scholarships. Furthermore, by holding events and raising awareness for students and the programs that they attend, we hope to change the culture around education for individuals with disabilities.
