The Super Sam Foundation was started by Matt and Cassie Santhuff, who lost their six-year-old son, Super Sam, to a rare childhood cancer (Rhabdomyosarcoma) in the fall of 2014. Currently less than 8% of federal funding for cancer research is devoted to childhood cancers. Because childhood cancer gets so little funding, the foundation’s goals are to carry on Sam’s mission to help All the Kids, by raising awareness, supporting advocacy, providing support to Heroes in the Fight and their families, and funding research.
To date, we have reached a targeted milestone and funded $500,000 in pediatric cancer research, sent over 3,800 support packs, helped advocate for two federal bills passed in the last four years and worked tirelessly to raise awareness.
