Our mission for "Supporting The Taylor House, Inc." is to empower independence by teaching essential life skills and offering affordable rents to former foster and at risk girls ages 18-24.
The Taylor House is a 8-bedroom safe, supportive haven for young women transitioning out of foster care or homelessness and into the real world.
Residence assistance which is the cornerstone of what we do. This helps us to support the girls in the following five key areas:
Employment- All girls must work to live at The Taylor House as they must pay rent and share utilities.
Education- We help the girls carve out an education plan whether its high school graduation, college, trade schools, certification programs and we also give out 10,000.00 in scholarships.
Transportation- We cover costs of drivers permit, drivers training, licenses and a matching car program.
Health & Wellness - We make sure all of the girls' physical emotional and mental health are addressed, as well as dental needs and cover the cost of therapy for current residents and alumni girls.
Budgeting & Banking- All girls must open a checking and savings account and meet weekly to learn how to budget and save for their future.
