Founded in 1982, Susan G. Komen's mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs of our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. We are the only organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease.

Currently,1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and our vision is to create a world without breast cancer. As we work to make that dream a reality, we are committed to alleviating the suffering of those with the disease now. Komen is committed to removing barriers to care for individuals and communities experiencing health disparities. We work to ensure that all people have access to high-quality programs and services to support their breast health.
