Sweet Home PTO has served our rural school community for at least ninety years.  Our school was founded in 1880 and is one of the oldest public schools in Texas.  As a rural community, we lack the resources and funding found in most other school districts.  The school is home to 150 students from grades pre-K through 8th - one class per grade level - and we have about 27 staff members total.

Due to the limited financial resources in our district, the PTO stands in the gap between what the school and community wants to do vs what the school is capable of doing.  For nearly four decades, our PTO has been proud to provide college scholarships to 100% of our students who complete the 8th grade at our campus.  Additionally, we provide generous accounts for teacher reimbursement so they do not have to pay for classroom materials out of their own pockets.

We also fund special programs such as One Act Play, art, athletic tournaments, and family days in an effort to enrich our kids' educations.  PTO funds field trips, the purchase of library books and cafeteria equipment, and this past year we provided a total renovation of our school bathrooms because the school did not have the capital to undertake the project.  Furthermore, we were also one of the major sources of funding a full renovation of the school's outdoor track.
