TLC's mission is to empower individuals of all abilities to live their fullest life. With hope and determination, three families came together 55 years ago to create a place where their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and others could live, learn, play, and grow. Today, TLC continues our founders' dream to make our community a place where people of all abilities are welcomed, supported, and included.
TLC offers lifespan services for children, adults, and families. Since the 1970s, TLC has provided 24/7/365 medical and residential care for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and reached into the community with therapy, respite care, community living, and supportive services. Our Raleigh campus is a hub for onsite and community programs that serve over 900 children and adults and support nearly 1,000 individuals and 2,070 family members – parents, siblings, and family caregivers.
