Our mission is to raise awareness about this rare lethal cancer (cholangiocarcinoma aka bile duct cancer)and raise money to fund research in hopes of a cure.  100% of all proceeds are earmarked for Research fellowship grants therefore funding more hope for people with cholangiocarcinoma worldwide.   One of our fundraising events...the Quack Out Cholangio 5k Run/Walk is the largest private fundraiser in North America.

Our Board is made up of people who have been directly impacted by this rare lethal cancer that a study in JAMA predicts will be the third leading cause of cancer death by 2040.  My Mom died from cholangiocarcinoma in 2011, then after being told there is no way I would ever get cholangiocarcinoma, I too, was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma in 2018.  I had 5x7 of my liver removed and 6 months of chemotherapy.  I am extremely blessed to be one of the only approx 8% of all patients diagnosed to live longer than 5 years.  Once recovering my husband and I decided we wanted to make a difference in the journey of those being diagnosed behind me.  My husband Dean is also on the Board.  Our third Board member, Kate, lost her Dad to Cholangiocarcinoma and her daughter, Cameron shares the third Board seat with her.  Cameron had been a huge part of our fund-raising before we formed the 501c3 and even received the honor of a Point of Light Award for her dedication.

I personally can be often found on the phone talking to a newly diagnosed patient to answer questions, give them guidance and encouragement and offer them hope.  We have an open door policy for patients with cholangiocarcinoma and often host warriors and their families in our home.  Our community is a diverse communbity but unified in the fight against this cruel cancer that was once a cancer mostly found in men over 65 but is seen more and more in women and men much younger than that.

100% of all proceeds from our 501c3 are earmarked to fund Research Fellowship Grants.
