Tempe Junior Crew (TJC) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) (EIN 26-0015191) community youth rowing team, rowing on Tempe Town Lake in Tempe AZ. Our team is comprised of coed youths from junior high and high school in Tempe, Scottsdale and surrounding cities. We know from firsthand experience with our current young athletes as well as alumni from years past that competitive rowing can and does transform lives. Our athletes are able to establish a sense of teamwork, accountability, confidence and mental focus working together on the water - offering an excellent outlet for their competitive inclinations. We are fundraising so that we can purchase much needed new equipment. Much of our existing equipment inventory is old, in need of repairs and does not match the needs of our younger, lighter-weight athletes in competitive situations. The new boats will help address increasing youth interest as well as improve competitiveness. Our volunteer board makes every effort to keep our costs low to make our program accessible to as many youths as possible. This includes offering scholarship participation for student athletes who demonstrate financial need. Community support is vital to our ability to maintain a competitive youth rowing program for our community on Tempe Town Lake. Donations and fundraisers are required to cover capital expenditures while seasonal dues cover operating costs. Your contributions will go directly to fund this specific new equipment acquisition.
