TLC's mission is to improve case outcomes for abused and neglected children by enhancing the quality of legal services they receive, by raising public awareness, and by facilitating improvement in systems that serve children and families. The most important decisions about an abused or neglected child's future are made in court. TLC exists to help ensure that those decisions are the best possible for the child.
We provide a huge online database loaded with excellent resources for attorneys with child abuse cases. We are widely known for our online trauma-informed trainings that teach attorneys how to appropriately respond to traumatized children and better represent them. We facilitate a Education Advocate program where we recruit pro bono attorneys to train and represent abused foster children in the Dallas area, offering them hope for a brighter future. TLC also hosts 2 fundraisers every year: a Champions for Children Luncheon in December and our Evening of Live Music spring event. Texas Lawyers for Children (TLC) is a program of Child Protection Connection.
