The Texas Nurse Practitioner Foundation was organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. Scholarships/grants from donations may be awarded to the following: registered nurses pursuing further education to become nurse practitioners; nurse practitioners pursuing an advanced degree; nurse practitioners proposing or engaged in research which is relevant to advanced nursing practice; community projects promoting and improving access to health care for all Texans.

Kim had a long and distinguished career as a nurse practitioner, educator, lecturer and researcher. Her field of expertise included migraines, strokes, and concussions, and throughout her career she worked with neurosurgeons and neurologists at several health care facilities including Mayo Clinic, UT Southwestern, Baylor Scott & White Healthcare and St. Joseph Healthcare System. Kim advocated for patients and nurses from the bedside to the boardroom, from RNs to APRNs and beyond. The purpose of the Kim Oas Memorial Fund is to provide ongoing education for Texas Nurse Practitioners. 

The Katie Russell Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to provide an annual scholarship to a TNP member who is enrolled in a pediatric nurse practitioner program or enrolled to further pediatric education in Texas. Donations are accepted online or checks made out to TNPF with a memo Katie Russell Memorial Scholarship Fund and mailed to 4425 S. Mopac Expressway, Building 3, Suite 405 Austin TX 78735.

The purpose of this fund is to provide a short-term, immediate financial assistance to eligible Texas Nurse Practitioner members who are victims of a disaster from fire, flood, accidents or other disasters.
