MISSION OF AIR RESCUE

The mission of Air Rescue is different from the broader mission of the U.S. Armed Forces. While the loss of life is always a risk with missions, risking one’s life to save that of another is their sole mission. That Others May Live Foundation honors the men and women of Air Force Rescue, service members whose sole mission is to risk their lives on combat and humanitarian rescue missions to save the lives of others.

OUR MISSION, PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Since its inception, our foundation has been fulfilling its mission to improve the lives of those within the Air Force Rescue community through tragedy assistance to survivors of fallen Air Rescue Warriors, scholarship and educational support to their surviving children, healing support for Warfighters’ visible and invisible wounds, and the boosting of morale for those actively serving our country.

·   IMMEDIATE TRAGEDY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: TOMLF provides an immediate $2,000 donation to members of the Rescue community Wounded in Action or the families of Heroes that have been Killed in Action while engaged in an operational or training mission. Additional funds are available on a case-by-case basis.

·   WARFIGHTER SUPPORT PROGRAM: This program directly supports Rescue warfighters and their families for needs beyond their ability to meet or outside the bounds of government or other agency assistance. TOMLF offers immediate response assistance to families in crisis so they can maintain mission and family focus also works to build Rescue unit camaraderie through unit support.

·   SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS: Through Children of Fallen Warriors scholarships, we ensure the children of fallen Rescue Heroes receive full financial assistance for post-secondary education at private universities, state or community colleges, vocational/technical training, and career institutions. Through the Jolly Green Merit Scholarship Program, TOMLF awards annual merit-based scholarships of up to $3,500 for children in the Air Force Rescue community.

·   VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE WOUNDS PROGRAM: TOMLF provides access to mental health counseling, as well as opportunities for peer support and resiliency building to USAF Rescue Heroes, Veterans, and families affected by visible and invisible wounds attributed to or because of service duties.
