As a civil and human rights movement, The Arc of Opportunity creates and supports lifetime opportunities throughout Worcester County for individuals with disabilities and their families to reach their fullest potential and enhance their quality of life.

Programs have a person-centered focus revolving around Home, Day, and Family Supports.  “Charting the LifeCourse” provides a framework that helps each person organize their ideas, vision, and goals, as well as problem-solve, navigate, and advocate for supports.

Home Supports

·       Independent Living–Supports of 2-15 weekly hours for someone living in their own apartment

·       Adult Foster Care–Placement in home of a community or family member that meets their specific needs

·       Group Home–For individuals with significant medical or behavioral challenges who require 24/7 care

Day Supports

·       Day Habilitation–Medical model focusing on a variety of therapies and clinical supports.  Medical needs are supported by an RN; program staff combine adult education with occupational and sensorimotor activities

·       Community-Based Day Supports – Maximizes independence with support to make meaningful community connections.  Emphasis is placed on volunteering and jobs

·       College Navigation–Support for individuals with Autism who are college bound or in college

Family Supports – Provides workshops, training, support groups, and legislative advocacy.  Respite support provided to families as well.
