The Arc of Southwest Georgia has been on a mission to create life-changing solutions for Southwest Georgians with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ex. Autism, Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, etc.) since 1963. We do this by: advocating for the needs and rights of persons with disabilities (and those that support them, including family and professional caregivers), and providing day-to-day supportive care services (ex. case management, day center, employment, residential, and child development services) to help those we serve live, work and play how they want to! The Arc of Southwest Georgia truly envisions a world where persons of all abilities have the same rights, opportunites and freedoms. Disability inclusion has come a long way since we were originally founded 60 years ago (that's right- this year is our 60th anniversary!), but we still have so much further to go before true community inclusion.
