The Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for Youth is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to provide assessment services and emergency shelter for 61 children and youth, ages 0 through 17, who are removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect by parent or guardian.

Assuring the health and safety of these children is an important mission. The shelter's goal is not merely to provide a decent living environment, but a home where the residents are treated as a family. The Ark staff is devoted to providing essential services to children under its care with absolute respect and unconditional love. All of the children's basic and spcific needs are met, including doctor visits.
