The Capital City C.I.R.C.L.E.S. Initiative (CCCI) is a cooperative community effort to elevate people out of poverty by intentionally creating relationships across class lines and empowering people to chart their own course towards self-sufficiency. Connecting Individuals with Resources to Change Lives & Empower Sustainability (C.I.R.C.L.E.S.) Igniting Potential and Inspiring Transformation Together, CCCI envisions a community with no individuals or working families living in poverty.

CCCI serves people who are experiencing generational or situational poverty. These include the working poor, persons affected by substance use disorders, persons in long-term recovery, persons impacted by trauma, persons addressing mental illness, formerly incarcerated people transitioning out of the legal system, and those seeking alternative support systems. We also serve our compassionate community mentors who are absent of implicit biases. CCCI programs are available to all community members regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or religious or political affiliation.

CCCI uses an evidence-based curriculum that addresses the 8 Domains of Wellbeing. The multi-phase program begins with a 15-week introduction to The Art of Emotional Resilience. The participants are then matched with a community mentor who serves as a support person and a role model to support them in achieving their goals. Class meets weekly for a two-hour session that begins with a free shared meal and social time. We provide transportation and childcare at no cost to eliminate the common barriers to attending. Participants meet with the Program Coach monthly for additional support and resource coordination.
