The Center for Youth delivers programs -- from prevention education to counseling to emergency shelter to youth development opportunities -- with respect for and full participation of youth. We provide these services with the deep belief that young people, given information and support, want to and can make their own positive life choices.
The Center for Youth is a youth-centered, multi-programming agency founded 50 years ago by a group of teenagers who believed that youth voices must be heard and that outreach includes serving young people where they are - in schools, on the streets, in shelters, in juvenile justice, and in our offices, fiercely and with a full commitment. Our mission is to create a beloved community where all youth thrive and succeed and most especially those young people in our community facing housing instability and homelessness.
