My name is Brittany Schulik. I am one of the program managers at the Center for Youth. If you are not familiar with our program, we work with homeless youth or those at-risk of being homeless. More times than not, our youth cannot do extracurricular activities that some of our other community members can do. Some of our youths have never been to any amusement park and will not in their lifetime.
We are holding the Big Queer Prom. This is going to be a true prom, hosted for the LGBTQ+ community, to come and be themselves. Because it is our clients, it will be free for the youth to attend, but nevertheless, it will be as big as the proms in the movies!!
We are hoping to give out "free" raffles to the youth who attend and have a few gifts to raffle off. I was wondering if Six Flags Darien Lake would be inclined to donate 2 all-day tickets to us.
Please let me know. We would truly appreciate the kindness and support. If you cannot, but you know some youth in the community who may need shelter, case management, employment support, MH support, young mothers, housing support, etc., please refer them to the Center for Youth.
