The Children’s Organization of Lending Equipment (COLE) Foundation’s mission is to connect costly adaptive equipment to children with special needs who need it. To date we have already changed the lives of 62 Children in Minnesota.
I started this non-profit in after experiencing many struggles trying to get adaptive equipment for my disabled son Cole. I knew I would have many fights to fight with having a disabled child, but getting adaptive equipment, to help him move, grow and play was not one of them nor should be for anyone else. This is exactly why I started the Cole Foundation in 2021, based in Woodbury, MN.
It may come as a surprise that most adaptive equipment is not covered by private insurance or medical assistance and even if it does get covered, it will take over a year to enter the family’s home. We at the COLE Foundation believe each child DESERVES the equipment they need to sit, stand, walk, bike and to take a shower safely so they can be part of the family, play with friends, have independence and just be a kid. COLE meets these basic needs at no cost for the families.
