We are The Color of Harmony Foundation, a nonprofit organization born out of the vision to create a more diverse future for classical music. Founded with a deep commitment to addressing the significant underrepresentation of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in classical music, our foundation is driven by the belief that music should be a reflection of all voices, cultures, and experiences.
Our mission is critical: fewer than 2% of professional musicians in major American orchestras are Black, and fewer than 4% are Latino. To address this stark disparity, we empower young musicians from these underrepresented communities by providing them with the resources, education, and opportunities they need to succeed. Through our robust programs, we strive to break down the barriers that have historically excluded these talented individuals from pursuing their passions in classical music.
