This is our 21st year feeding people who are experiencing homelessness and living in poverty along with food insecurity, and in the wake of current events both locally and globally, our clientele has almost tripled in the past year alone. Besides providing healthy and nutritious food to those who are vulnerable, we also provide hygiene products, help with connecting to housing services, medical needs, addiction resources, mental health needs and social programming. We are one of the few food banks in all of Canada that provides food to our clients on a weekly rather than a monthly basis.

Our clients are struggling to survive while living below the poverty line. The funds that come in from this event each year enable us to ease the burden through the provision of healthy food, fellowship and many other programs that help improve their quality of life. In the first 6 months of this year, The Compass has distributed a total of 517,300 lbs. of food to our neighbours in need, compared to 300,777lbs this time last year.
