The Cove Center for Grieving Children founded 27 years ago, is a volunteer-based organization created to help children, teens and their families through the grieving process. The first Cove Site in Guilford provided services for only 6 families and 8 children. Today, serving over 600 individuals annually, we are the largest children’s grief center in Connecticut with 5 in person sites based in Guilford, New Haven, Meriden, Stonington, West Hartford, and new Virtual Teen Group, Virtual Young Adult Group and a Virtual Men’s Group.
FACT: “One in 5 children will experience the death of someone close to them by age 18.
FACT: “One out of every 20 children aged fifteen and younger will suffer the loss of one or
both parents. These statistics don’t account for the number of children who lose a
“parental figure,” such as a grandparent or other relative that provides care.”

Together We Can Provide Hope and Healing
Each year, the demand for our services continues to grow. We need your help to support the costs of:
·       Our FREE Family Program that runs from September through June at our 5 sites statewide
·       “Good Grief” Cove in Schools Program and Parent/Teacher Presentations
·       Professional Development Training, Presentations Referrals and Community Outreach
·       Camp, a FREE overnight grief camp for children and teens, ages 6-25
By providing an in-kind donation for our Hope & Healing Virtual Auction, you will be showing your support of these grieving families. Many of whom are grieving the death of a loved one from Covid-19 or in a tragic event.
