The Cystic Fibrosis Gala was started by young Guelph business owners whose lives have been personally affected by cystic fibrosis. We are 3 moms who are wanting to make a difference in people's lives. This will be a family friendly event. Everyone is welcome. Funds raised through Cystic Fibrosis Canada events are allocated to the local chapter, (in this case Kitchener- Waterloo and Guelph District) and are then put to the best and highest use according to our pillars of healthcare, research, advocacy and our CF registry. Cystic Fibrosis Canada does provide funding to the local CF clinics at St. Mary’s and Grand River. Funds that go towards research benefit all 4300 Canadians living with cystic fibrosis regardless of where they live and the projects we fund are based on the impact they may have for all of those with CF. Our advocacy work prioritizes drug access for all Canadians with CF and for all variants of the disease. The cystic fibrosis community in the chapter catchment area often attend clinics or receive care in Hamilton or Toronto and therefore benefit from the advances made within and outside of their home communities.
