The mission of The Elizabeth Hospice is to enhance the quality of life for those nearing the end of life's journey and for those who grieve for them. A vital part of our organization's mission involves providing grief support to patients, their loved ones, and any child or adult needing this essential service. We welcome everyone in the community who needs our bereavement services regardless of how their loved one died, including families who have lost someone through accident, illness, self-inflicted injury, and most recently, a COVID-related death. A hospice patient affiliation is not required.
The Elizabeth Hospice is the only community resource providing comprehensive grief support services for children and their families. Our counselors and trained volunteers offer individual, family and group counseling, educational workshops, community events, and specialized programs that help children and their caregivers/guardians cope with the loss of a loved one. Our grief services team also provides crisis support for the community after a tragedy.
Most grief support services are free or avaialble for a nominal fee. All our children's bereavement services are free of charge.
