OUR MISSION: To promote children's interest in literature and reading by increasing community awareness of the Children's Department; supporting library programs that promote cultural enrichment of children; raising funds to further promote children's interests in the library; and supporting the development and expansion of library services that promote children's use of the library services and resources.

In addition to a wonderful collection of books, the Children’s Library also provides many services that encourage raising readers. Last year:

·       Over 13,000 readers participated in Summer Reading, In-N-Out and other reading challenges

·       Number of books checked out from Children & Young Adult collections – 496,133 books

·       “Best Story Telling Time in Orange County” for the second year in a row from Parenting OC Reader’s Choice Awards
