The Gentle Barn Foundation's Mission Statement: Inspiring Kindness and Compassion towards Animals, Our Planet, and Each Other.
We were founded in 1999, and are now in our 25th year. We have 2 additional locations near Nashville TN, and St. Loius MO! All 3 of our Appreciation parties are in October on different dates.
We are a last resort rescue for animals that are too old, too sick, too scared, or too lame to be adoptable elswhere. We heal their bodies first, and then work patiently to heal their hearts. Once ready, we pair them with children and adults who have experience similar trauma in their lives, to help heal them through the animals' stories of resilience and forgiveness, creating a full circle of healing. Every Sunday, we are open to the community and general public at all 3 of our locations. We have 40,000 visitors annually that get to come receive healing from our animals, and fall in love with them.
Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization and we could not do this important work without them. Our funds need to go directly towards our animals' care and our programs. Can you please assist us in spoiling our volunteers to show them how much we appreciate them!
