The mission of The Ion Center for Violence Prevention is "To take the best care of people of all identities who have been impacted by power-based personal violence and to measurably reduce the number of people who have been hurt by it".

Our organization was founded in 1976 with the intention to provide services to survivors of power-based personal violence in Northern Kentucky, Buffalo Trace and Greater Cincinnati areas. We were formerly known as Women's Crisis Center.

In 2021 we added a new chapter to a 45-year story. Our name was revealed to us by the philosophies that drive our center and ther services we provide. Our identity shines in everythng we do. PreventION, InterventION, CompassION, CollaboratION, InclusION and ProtectION. Everything we do is either preventing violence from happening or from getting worse. Some services we provide include 24-Hour Hotline, Walk-in Services, Community Partnerships, Hospital Advocacy, Court Advocacy, Safety Planning, Counseling, Support Groups, Therapy, Pet Protection and and Emergency Shelter.
