“Dedicated to discovery...Committed to care” is the mission of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. A world leader in cancer research and treatment, the Institute was founded in 1947 by Dr. Sidney Farber and fortified by our historic partner, the Dana Foundation. Dana-Farber is renowned for using its discoveries to improve the treatment of adults and children with cancer. It is the founding member of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. It is also a federally designated Center for AIDS Research and a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
