The mission of North Andover Youth & Recreation Services is to provide the community, youth, and their families with staff, resources, and programs with the goal of empowerment and building self-esteem. The positive experience of this involvement enriches and strengthens the fabric of our community for today and a lifetime.

We are extremely fortunate to have the Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center in our community. Numerous programs and services are provided to the children of North Andover both within and outside the walls of our facility. Private donations have allowed both programming and the facility maintenance needed to effectively reach those in need.
Some of the key activities that our community has come to rely on include:
∙ Social service, recreation and counseling programs serving over 3000 children. All outside
program costs and all operating expenses are funded from membership fees and donations.
∙ Youth-at-risk programs dealing with anorexia/bulimia, drug abuse and alcohol intervention.
∙ Thanksgiving and Holiday Drives which provides needy families in the community with holiday
meals and gifts.
∙ Full scholarships given to over 100 kids who are unable to afford the annual membership. Our
policy is that no child will be denied membership due to their inability to afford the fee.
